The gun didn’t go off; there wasn’t even a metallic click. Shaggy was trying harder to pull the trigger but it wouldn’t move. It took about an hour to drive though town and a bit farther out, into a middle-class suburb. Tobias drew up a long driveway to a large building to the side, bordering an open field. He parked the car outside a garage door and turned off the engine. He and Patrick had been chatting all the way, and it was the first time Patrick really had talked... Patrick had the best lunch he ever had eaten (for one thing, there was enough food for everyone, although no one else seemed to think that was significant). Tobias took Patrick a bit farther in the huge technical room where the others had assembled around a small table, with a few here and there sitting on chairs and tables, standing, or whatever. Skyjland -10- Posting Pictures October 30, 2009 Your target is what you aim at. If you miss, your target must have been an illusion. The tall, kind tuxedoed man did look rather pale while guiding Liam and Eve out from the night club. He knew Mr. Cantini well and thus had no good hopes for Liam and Eve’s departure out there on the street. At the point where he left them outside the entrance door, getting a last glimpse of their backs before the door closed between them, he felt both relieved and sad... Skyjland: White City. Skyjland -11- Breakfast January 29, 2010 When being stubborn doesn’t break it, being gentle might open the wall instead. Patrick woke late as Tobias let him sleep. The clock was at half past nine, and Tobias had been up since seven making himself a small cup of coffee and reading a newspaper while waiting. It was a happy Patrick who came into the kitchen to greet Tobias good morning. Tobias smiled and said, “You’ve slept well, I presume,” looking up from his newspaper... Skyjland -12- Backstage February 5, 2010 When analogue is out of the picture, the same picture is still valid in digital. After dinner both Patrick and Tobias settled themselves in Tobias’s apartment, eagerly waiting for the late night show as were most of the others. Patrick, from the start, when he got his TeeWee, had begun to explore it to try out its functions. Tobias happily assisted, setting it up up right. There was no separate manual at hand; instead you just asked... Skyjland -13- Getting Ready February 12, 2010 In a high tech world we look up to illusions and forget what feeds us in the first place. “What’s a master meeting?” Patrick asked. Tobias looked back at the TV screen for a while before he turned it off. “We can have a look at what happens next, covering the whole day and night, tomorrow. There are some things about this you need to know.” Patrick agreed by nodding back... Skyjland -14- New World February 19, 2010 In fantasy our minds can blow us away. In reality you better keep your hat on. Tobias and Patrick had their breakfast while joyfully chatting. Tobias still didn’t reveal much of what could be expected—“Wait and see,” was the tone of the day. “You won’t believe me anyway,” Tobias said. Patrick had a hard time sitting still, so he helped Tobias wash up after breakfast to try to speed up things. Tobias enjoyed this and added some bits and pieces... Skyjland -15- Family February 26, 2010 Home is a location, where we live. But to find it we need to search within ourselves. There… Patrick almost lost his breath. In the middle of widespread ice and mountains, as far as the eye could see, a valley spread out green, from one high end of the mountain range to the sea and farther, to end in a mass of ice meeting the horizon. The valley stretched for more than two hundred miles from the highest mountain to the shore and about fifty miles out in sea... Skyjland -16- Late Night News March 5, 2010 In a square world we can get stuck in the corners, unable to change. It’s there we suffocate. Dennis and Jack were quick into bed, having enjoyed an exiting day meeting Patrick. Nina then joined Tobias and Patrick out on the balcony where she was given Patrick’s letter. She was as surprised as Tobias that Mr. Green himself took this initiative. “Mr. Green is fair, Patrick. You don’t need to worry,” Nina said... To be continued next Friday.  _
